Having considered myself a Christian for most of my life, it wasn't until my early 50s when I truly accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord & Savior, my Brother and my Friend. More Him—Less Me! is really how I mean to live my life as a follower of Jesus Christ. My name is Brian and my journaling, in these pages, is intended to be a declaration of God's presence in my life, even in the moments I've been distant from Him.
Fundamentally, these are my believes...
- The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, is infallible, and is the final authority for my faith and life.
- There is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for my sins, was bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven and will return in person once again.
- The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, indwells in me, convicts me of my sin, regenerates, guides, and empowers me to live a godly life.
- I am created in God's image, but was born into sin by way of Adam and Eve, and desperately need salvation.
- My salvation is a gift through God's grace by faith alone in Jesus Christ, and not by my works.
- The Church is the universal body of all believers, expressed in the local church, united in Christ.
- By following Christ, I am empowered by the Spirit, marked by obedience, service and mission.
- I believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, God's final judgment, and eternal destiny into heaven or hell.
May the way I think, speak and act be for the glory of God!
